"Although Larfor was defeated, the events of Thod II led to disaster. The two worlds merged together, becoming once, and the hero, Fudd, drowned in the ocean of his home world.
And so Thod III begins. Fudd awakens in the spirit world, an afterlife reserved for wizards who accomplished great things in their lives. Fudd is greeted into this neo-heaven by the four great wizards of Jert, who explain to Fudd that the two merged worlds have been taken over by Ein No Yami, the guardian of the barrier that originally separated the two dimensions.
Helpless in the spirit world, Fudd decides he must still find a way to escape from death and return to the living worlds, and save his friends... and the entire population of the multiverse."
The controls are very easy to use once you figure them out. The read-me file does not describe all the controls, so here are the most important ones summarized in one place (with many parts copied in from the readme.txt file):

This walkthrough assumes that as you go, you explore everywhere, talk to everyone about all topics, and examine everything, otherwise the story will not make sense if you only follow the walkthrough.
The longish introduction tells you the story of Thod and Thod II, and explains how Fudd, the game’s hero, landed up in The Spirit World. The 4 sorcerers introduce themselves and talk to Fudd in the Spirit World. The evil Thod realizes that Fudd exists on both Worlds, and walks away. “What’s he up to?”.
When the cutscene is over, the game itself starts with Fudd in a spirit-room with 2 doors and a window. Go through the door behind Fudd (i.e. use foot/hand icon on the doorknob) and talk to the 3 sorcerers about how to return to the Living World. The Sorcerers tell him he can only return to the Living (merged) World and merge with his other self if a portal is opened between the Spirit World and the Living World. Click “See ya…” to end the conversation and you will automatically go back to the screen showing 2 doors and a window. Open door to left, and you will be in a screen with 4 doors.
In the 4-door screen, take the red orb. Try to open all the doors :
Go through the door on the far right and take the curtains then take the curtain rail. In inventory, combine the curtain rail with the red orb to form a fake wand. Use the fake wand on the second door from the right (to Fudd’s bedroom), and watch the cutscene.Cutscene:
In the Living (merged) World Ein No Yami the ruler of the merged worlds tells Fudd that his expanding the portal (in Thod II) was a serious crime, and that a portal can only be closed by magic. Fudd will be sentenced to death. The scene skips to Thod who channels his power through Spirit Fudd to Living World Fudd who then becomes Dark Fudd. Thod goes into the Living world (to try to find and re-unite with his body). The scene skips to the 3 sorcerers who tell Spirit Fudd that Thod stole the 3 Sorcerers’ magic wands and then left via a portal in his locked room in the Spirit World – Thod locked the portal behind him and it can only be unlocked by a magic wand. Thod’s room door can only be unlocked by Thod’s magic wand or by the janitor’s skeleton key.
Go back into door behind you and talk to the 3 sorcerers, then click “Seeya..”. Go through door on left of screen, then use wand to go into 2nd-right door (Fudd’s bedroom).
In Fudd’s bedroom, take the pink piggy-bank. Take the broom-replica from Mum’s wardrobe. Exit bedroom and go into door on far-left of screen. It leads to a screen/room containing inter alia an arch-shaped coloured door. Take the biscuits off the yellow table. Take the blue bin.
Go through the coloured arch-shaped door – you will be on a balcony. Click the red curtains on the balcony, then click the hand-icon on them to climb down. You are at a window : look at it “stiff shut … needs lubrication”. Climb back up and go into the door again.
Go through the door on the left of the screen – you are now in the janitor’s room. Talk to the janitor. He says he is a spirit janitor who cleans and who unlocks doors – he is a keeper of keys. Take the soap (bottle).
Go back to the balcony and down the curtains. Use soap on the window – it opens. Climb in. Look at the locked cabinet (“needs a key”) plus a door (“locked from the other side, must be something special in there”).
Go back to balcony then into room. Try to use cheesy biscuit on mousehole, but “need something to catch mouse in”. In inventory, click soap on piggy-bank – the lid comes off. Click the piggy-bank on the cheesy biscuits – you now have a piggy bank with cheesy crumbs. Click piggy-bank on mouse-hole – you now have the captured mouse in inventory.
Go through left door to the janitor and click the cheesy biscuits on him – he puts them in his pocket for later. Click mouse on janitor’s pocket – mouse emerges with keys and jumps onto overhead light-shade. In inventory, click broom on blue bin = makeshift net. Click makeshift net on mouse = got key to “one of the janitor’s cabinets”.
Go to balcony, down the curtain, and into window. Use key on cabinet. You will obtain the skeleton key. Go back up and then go right, into screen with 4 doors. Use skeleton key on 2nd door from left – you will be in Thod’s spirit room and see the portal he opened. It is locked.
Go back to screen with mousehole – a wizard has appeared and his magic wand is on the yellow table. Talk to wizard. Click the fake wand from inventory on the magic wand on the yellow table (it is a bit finicky, I had to try this several times). You now have a genuine magic wand (check in inventory to make sure!).
Go to Thod’s spirit-room and use the genuine magic wand on the portal, which will become magically unlocked. Click on the portal, and after a short cutscene you will emerge in the Living (merged) world.
LIVING / MERGED WORLD
Ein No Yami throws Fudd into jail where Dark Fudd and Lycu are already imprisoned.
Click on Dark Fudd and the two Fudds are united into normal Fudd.
Hermione turns up and frees Fudd and Lycu.
When map of Leart / Thod sighting chart appears, click on “We R Here” and talk to Farlor. Take the empty green jar and the black pen. Click on door to go back to map.
Go to Park. Talk to Lycu. Use makeshift net to catch firefly – it will be put into empty jar.
Go to Wall. Talk to man with arm stuck in wall (“get rid of smelly tramp and I will give you my key”). Talk to tramp – he wants a place to get a beer, and money to buy it with.
Go to Street. Talk to hippy wizard and then use pen to sign his petition – he will give you a flyer re Laertian pub. Talk to Mearon the Tofreg - he has a shiny glowing coin – give him the firefly jar to get his coin in return. It appears as a Groy (coin) in inventory.
Go to the Council Building – talk to the guard (he will not let you in, and he is hungry) and talk to Hermione (“anyone who falls into the purple dimensional rift will cease to exist”).
Go to Street and go into library and talk to Kat and librarian. There is a locked door to left of librarian, leading to a book about Leartian gravesites.
Go to Park. Plant Groy (coin) in soil. Click the green growth spell on the soil. When money-tree grows out of soil, take the resultant coins.
Go to Wall. Give flyer to the tramp. Give the money to the tramp. Leave screen and come back – the tramp has gone. Look in your inventory – you now have the key from the man with arm in wall.
Go to the Street. Enter the library. Use stuck-man’s key on door to left of librarian. You will automatically read the book about the location of Thod’s gravesite and will automatically go there.
Thod’s Gravesite : Kat turns up and says that Thod (and Vagrant) have gone to Ein No Yami in the Council Building – Thod wants to kill him.
Thod transforms (into a devil?) and zaps Ein No Yami.
Go back to Thod’s gravesite. Talk to trader standing by Thod’s grave. He has a sleeping potion, but wants to first see Fudd’s ID before he will give Fudd the sleeping potion.
Go to Street and go back into library. Click again on door inside library – you get the driving license of the man with arm stuck in wall.
Go back to the Wall. The tramp is back, so talk to him. He gives Fudd his money back.
Go to the Park. Try to use money on the photo-booth – but the light is broken! Use light/dark spell (grey spell-icon) on photo-booth – now you have light. Click money on photo-booth – now you have photograph of Fudd. In inventory, click photo on license – you now have Fudd’s license.
Go to Thod’s gravesite. Click license on trader – you now have sleeping potion / hex.
Go to Council Building. In inventory, click sleeping hex on cheesy biscuits, then give them to the guard – he falls asleep. You and Hermione automatically enter the Council Building and will meet Farlor, Kat and Lycu. They tell Fudd that it is going to be the final fight with Thod, and that Fudd must use a spell of possession (which they give Fudd) on Thod.
You now have an orange spell of possession at bottom right of screen. Click the spell of possession on Thod.
Watch the long ending, (and after the credits you can see the guest-appearance of a character from Joe Townsend’s game “Saving the City”).
